Tragedy Strikes: Japanese Tourist Fatally Injured After 764-Foot Leap from One of the World’s Tallest Bungee Jump Platforms in China. The 56-year-old tourist passed away hours later, having lost consciousness following the jump from the Macau Tower in the Municipality of Macau on Sunday. Experiencing shortness of breath, he was swiftly transported to Conde S. Januario Hospital for urgent medical attention but was ultimately pronounced dead. An ongoing investigation is in progress.

Skypark by AJ Hackett, the company overseeing the bungee jump and other attractions at Macau Tower, emphasizes on their website the importance of customers communicating any medical concerns to their staff before engaging in their activities. They specifically highlight conditions such as heart issues, hypertension, diabetes, and previous surgical procedures.

At Skypark by AJ Hackett, the cost for a single round of bungee jumping, overseen by the facility, is approximately ₹ 25,000. The company conducts bungee jumps not only in China but also in Australia, Singapore, and France.

With a remarkable track record, the company boasts over four million successfully completed jumps spanning more than 30 years, emphasizing its “perfect safety record” on its website.

The Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge Bungee, situated in China, stands as the tallest platform globally, surpassing the height of the Macau Tower.

In a notable incident in 2019, a man suffered spinal injuries when his harness snapped during a 330-feet bungee jump in Poland. The 39-year-old’s fall occurred at a theme park in Gdynia, and distressing footage captured the moment his bungee rope snapped, leading to his descent from the platform.
