Kuwait’s crown prince, Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al-Sabah, has been appointed as the new emir of the oil-rich country following the passing of his predecessor, Sheikh Nawaf, according to state television.
The announcement from the broadcaster stated, “Kuwait’s cabinet names crown prince, his highness Sheikh Meshal… emir of the state of Kuwait.”
