The US agency has reported that the risk of a tsunami following the powerful earthquake in Japan has significantly diminished.

The tsunami threat resulting from a powerful earthquake in central Japan on Monday has diminished, as reported by a US agency. 

Earlier, waves measuring over a meter high had impacted certain areas. According to the Hawaii-based Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, “The tsunami threat has now largely passed.”
