In a tragic incident today, a Japan Airlines plane, still carrying passengers, erupted in flames at Tokyo’s Haneda airport, possibly following a collision with a Japanese Coast Guard aircraft. NHK reported that five out of six crew members on the Coast Guard aircraft have lost their lives, and the plane’s captain is in critical condition, according to information from the Metropolitan Police.
Live footage broadcasted on NHK displayed flames emerging from the aircraft’s windows. Japan Airlines spokesperson confirmed that the flight, originating from Shin-Chitose airport in Hokkaido and carrying nearly 400 passengers, has successfully evacuated all passengers and crew members.
